Portrait of Queen Anne by Michael Dahl, 1705

William III dies and is succeeded by Anne, his sister-in-law, the second daughter of James II and Anne Hyde.

Anne, the last Stuart monarch, was queen of Great Britain and Ireland from 1702 to 1714. She was shy, conscientious, stout, gouty, shortsighted and very small.

Portrait of Queen Anne was painted Michael Dahl in 1705. Michael Dahl was a Swedish portrait painter who lived and worked in England. His famous works include: Portraits of Sir John Pole, Queen Anne of Great Britain and her husband Prince George of Denmark.
