Landscape Near Figueras 1910 by Salvador Dali

The painting was one of the first paintings by Spanish artist Salvador Dalí. He painted this painting when he was six years old. The painting was completed in 1910.

At the beginning, his primary influence was from the Impressionist movement. This painting is one of the purest examples of Dalí's impressionist period. The artist, using a rather sophisticated color palette, depicts the rich greens of the foliage in the foreground with vivid pink roofed buildings in the distance. Shadowy mountains rise in the background framing this typical village scene.

Figueres is the capital of the comarca of Alt Empordà, in the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It is the birthplace of Salvador Dali. He was born on 11 May 1904
