The Judgement of Paris 1636
The large version of 1636 and 1638 are among the best known. The Judgment of Paris depicts a mythological beauty contest between Hera (right, Athena (left) and Aphrodite (middle). According to myth, each goddess bribed the judge, the mortal Paris (seated) to win his favor.

Paris hands the golden apple trophy to Aphrodite when she promises him the love of the most beautiful woman in the world – King Menrlaus’ wife Helen. The jealousy among the goddess and of Medelaus would lead to the Trojan War.
